About Us
Presbyterian's have been responding to the call of Jesus Christ for centuries. The purpose of church is to glorify God in worship, obey and honor Him in all we do, encourage one another, and share the good news of Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ we seek to continue his mission of demonstrating the love of God, teaching truth, feeding the hungry, helping the broken, and welcoming others. We seek to know Christ and make him known.

We Believe
We believe in a triune God – the Trinity. We believe God is supreme, in control of all things, and the ultimate authority. We believe God is the great creator of all; Jesus, God in human form, who died on the cross and rose again for our salvation; and the Holy Spirit as God present with us in our hearts and minds, empowering us to live lives of gratitude.
Leadership
The name Presbyterian comes from the biblical Greek word “Elder”, referring to men and women of good character and faith. Elders of Presbyterian churches are elected to serve as leaders on the governing body referred to as “Session” (similar to a Board of Directors).
We are thankful to have many devoted individuals and volunteers willing to serve, lead, and participate in our Christian endeavors.

Our History
Presbyterian history dates back to the 16th century when theological and social differences in Europe led to the Protestant Reformation period. Presbyterianism was the name given to one of the ecclesiastical bodies (denominations) representing the features of French lawyer, John Calvin (1509-1564). Presbyterians were among the earliest Reformed immigrants to arrive in America. They settled up and down the east coast and moved westward while founding congregations as early as the 1630's. CAROLINE COUNTY, VA The first account of a presbyterian church in Caroline County, VA, is in 1855, when the Caroline Presbyterian Church was located in Bowling Green, VA. Very little documented information for this organization is available, although prior research written by C.W. Butterworth indicated activity did occur from 1855-1885. The original Caroline Presbyterian Church was abandoned, for some reason. MILFORD PRESBYTERIAN (1908) 1908-1928: Congregations of the original "Milford Presbyterian Church" met in a home across the street from where the church is now located. (The Future is Bright.
